FabFitFun Box Review
FabFitFun (FFF) is a quarterly lifestyle subscription box that sends members a hand-curated mix of 8-10 beauty, wellness, fashion, fitness, home or tech items. FabFitFun is a highly rated and popular subscription box that offers members a large variety of high-quality products and the option to customize your box to suit your taste. I have a number of friends who are subscribers to FFF, and overall, they are happy with their subscriptions, but I have been disappointed by lifestyle boxes in the past, for example, OuiPlease, so I was hesitant to try FFF. But then, I got a year-long subscription to FFF for Christmas 2020 and after receiving two of my four boxes so far, I think I can say that this this box is definitely worth the hype!
How it Works
FFF offers two subscription options: seasonal and annual. Seasonal memberships cost $49.99 for 1 box every four months and automatically renew each season unless cancelled before the upcoming bill date. Annual members pay $179.99 for 4 boxes for the year and an automatic upgrade to Annual status. Also, yearly subscriptions are automatically renewed unless cancelled before the renewal date. Annual status perks include additional customization options in every box, early access to customization, exclusive early shopping window for Add-Ons and Edit Sales and early shipping so your items ship in the first shipping group. Seasonal members can upgrade their membership to the Annual plan anytime and will be charged $179.99 immediately to cover the next 4 boxes. And once you upgrade your membership, you immediately get the benefits of Annual Membership.
Other perks of FFF membership include access to FFFTV with its library of workouts and cooking ideas from experts. Workout videos run the gamut from barre to yoga for those at every fitness level and you can watch from a laptop/desktop or directly to your TV using an Apple Tv or Amazon Firestick. Add-Ons are another great benefit of FFF membership where members can buy super-discounted products up to 70% off that ship with the Seasonal Box. FFF members also benefit from community forums which allows FFF members to communicate with each other and learn about exclusive announcements, spoilers, giveaways and more. And finally, the FFF mobile app provides members with a convenient way to shop Add-Ons and Edit Sales, customize your box and join community forums.
When I got my FFF annual membership for Christmas, I immediately chose products for the winter box and although customization options were limited by then, I still absolutely loved my first box. But for my Spring Box I got to choose my Add-Ons on February 4th and customized my box on February 5th. The spring box was shipped on February 22nd and arrived the following day on February 23rd. The subscription arrived in a spring-themed box with a flower design and “fabfitfun” written across the top of the box. When I opened the box, there was a FFF magazine with extra information on each of the products available in the spring box as well as coupons. My box included the following items:
SFGLOW Sun’s Out Pouts Out Lip Mask (4 masks) - $16
SAIE Reusable Beauty Rounds (3 pack) - $15
What I Liked and Didn’t Like
There are so many things I love about my FFF subscription. First, I love the value for money, the spring box had a total retail value of about $345 (excluding tax), which is almost two times the cost of the annual membership. Second, I love the variety of products to choose from, which is the thing I thought I would like the least because so far, my favorite subscription boxes have all focused on one category of products, for example, Book of the Month, MINTD Box and Emma & Chloé. But with FFF, I can get a little bit of everything each box, for example, in my winter box I got a luxurious bathrobe and a set of cutting boards that I use almost every day but in my spring box, I was able to snag a lot of skincare products.
Another thing I loved is the Annual Status that I got with my annual membership. For instance, I got to customize my box earlier, which meant that I was able to get my top choice in each category. And although I didn’t buy any add-ons, because I was among the first FFF members to choose add-ons, none of the add-on products were sold out by the time I got to view them. Additionally, I loved the savings and variety with add-on products. In fact, I was tempted by a few items, like the 2 pack Philips Sonicare Toothbrush, but I somehow managed to avoid temptation. Also, FFF now offers renewal services for many of their beauty products, where subscribers can sign up to auto ship beauty products previously purchased through FFF.
FFF Members can send interested friends starter boxes, where your friend only has to pay for shipping. These starter boxes do not include customization and contain fewer products than a regular FFF box but one of my friends sent me a starter box last Fall and it played big role in me changing my mind about wanting a FFF subscription. But please note that if your friend does not want a FFF subscription after receiving their starter box, they will have to cancel their trial subscription before they are charged the price of a full membership. And finally, I love that unlike other subscription boxes (I’m looking at you BoxyCharm) that have really struggled with mailing members their boxes on time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FFF boxes are still arriving on time with no discernible mailing delays.
The one small critique I have of FFF is that I wish members should choose multiple items from one category if there is nothing in other categories that appeal to them. This happened to me for my spring box when I would have loved to choose two items from one category but was only allowed to choose one item per category. I understand why FFF doesn’t allow members to do this because then high end or popular items would sell out much more quickly, but it is just a small irk I had with the customization process.
I highly recommend FFF! In fact, it has become one of my favorite subscription boxes due to the wide variety of products to choose from and the superb value for money! I also highly recommend getting the annual subscription, so that you get Annual States and along with it more customization options as well as earlier access to add-ons and other exclusive deals.
