Farmacy Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil Review

Updated: Jan 14

Farmacy Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil (1 oz, $48) is a fast-absorbing, antioxidant-rich face oil for intense hydration and for smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil is packed with nutrients and contains a proprietary blend of honey, sea buckthorn and five-flower oil that replenishes skin with omegas, vitamins and amino acids. It is highly absorbable and leaves skin gorgeous and glowing, not greasy. The oil can be used alone or mixed in with your favorite moisturizer or foundation for intense targeted hydration. It is suitable for all skin types and is non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog pores. Farmacy Honey Grail Face Oil is formulated without parabens, phthalate, fragrances, mineral oil and is formaldehyde donor free and cruelty free.

The main ingredient in Honey Grail Face Oil is honey, which has been used in skincare for thousands of years going all the way back to Cleopatra. Honey is the quintessential organic ingredient as it is made from bees using the nectar they collect from flowers. In addition to its many medicinal benefits, honey has many skincare benefits as well. For example, honey is a natural antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory ingredient making it ideal for treating skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Honey is packed with antioxidants and according to this article, buckwheat honey, like the kind found in Honey Grail Face Oil, may increase the body’s defenses against the oxidative stress or free radicals that contribute to aging. Buckwheat honey is a highly nutritious honey made by bees that collect nectar from buckwheat flowers. Buckwheat honey is also higher in certain antioxidants in comparison to other types of honey, making it a particularly potent ingredient in the fight against the visible signs of aging and environmental damage. Honey is also a natural humectant, which means that it draws moisture from the air into the skin. Although honey can be used by all skin types, buckwheat honey is particularly moisturizing for dry, flaky skin or during the winter months and can be used to promote wound healing, a great property for fading acne scars.

Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil also contains sea buckthorn oil, which is derived from the fruit or seeds of the sea buckthorn shrub. Sea Buckthorn oil is rich in vitamins and nutrients and easily and quickly absorbs and assimilates into the skin. And similar to honey, sea buckthorn oil contains a lot of antioxidants. In fact, sea buckthorn oil contains more vitamin E than most other plant-based oils. Sea Buckthorn oil also promotes skin hydration, elasticity, cell regeneration and even helps to treat and prevent acne.

With ingredients like honey and sea buckthorn oil, Farmacy Honey Grail Face Oil is a great all round face oil for those who want a hydrating face oil that can help fight the signs of aging and uneven skin tone.

About the Brand

Farmacy Beauty started with a vision to share the potent power of natural ingredients and support small farmers. Farmacy uses cutting edge science to harness the healing powers of ingredients found in nature. The result is farm-to-face skincare that lives up to its full potency and potential through clean, thoughtful formulas. Farmacy currently works with a second-generation, family owned moringa farm in southern California and an acerola cherry farm in northeast Brazil. Farmacy also maintains its own farm which is home to beehives filled with over 20,000 bees that create their proprietary buckwheat honey blend used in their honey collection. Their on-site beekeeper and farmers practice ethical beekeeping by sourcing only the excess honey in the hives, in small batches, only after the bees have taken what they need.

My Take

This is a guest review of Farmacy Honey Grail Ultra-Moisturizing Face Oil that I have copy-edited for content and style. The final version was approved by the guest reviewer.

Farmacy Honey Grail Ultra-Moisturizing Face Oil comes in a translucent glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the oil. The face oil has a clear yellow color and a slightly sweet scent that is reminiscent of honey. I have a very simple skincare routine, I applied Honey Grail Face Oil to my face after cleansing in the evenings, before I went to bed. I used the full dropper to dispense the oil into the palm of my hands and then massaged it into my skin. The face oil absorbed quickly into the skin, but it did leave my skin feeling slightly tacky. I used the face oil once a day and it lasted about 9-10 weeks. I did not use the face oil in my hair.

Although I only used it once a day, I found the Honey Grail very moisturizing on my normal skin. The face oil also evened out my skin tone and made the sunspots that had developed on the skin around my eyes and forehead disappear. Honey Grail also made the crow’s feet around my eyes less pronounced likely due to the fact that honey is a great humectant that plumped up the skin around my eyes.

The only thing I didn’t like about Honey Grail is that it left my skin feeling tacky so I only used it at night when it wouldn’t annoy me as it as much as it would have I used it in the mornings. And although I thought the face oil’s smell was pleasant, I would have preferred a fragrance-free face oil.

I really liked this face oil and I recommend it to those who want a moisturizer that can also minimize the appearance of fine lines and skin discoloration. Those who want a face oil that they can use both morning and night may want to consider using another face oil during the day to avoid the slight tackiness that Honey Grail leaves behind.
